Tom and Jerry virtual world to be launched by Turner Interactive

The branch of Turner Entertainment, Turner Interactive, is developing a 3D online virtual world, based on the popular cartoon characters Tom and Jerry. It will be a dedicated website and will enable users to create their own cartoon characters such as 'cat' and 'mouse'. The website will boast of an interactive world, where the users can roam destinations like malls and parks. Users can roam and socialize in the virtual world.

The good news for Indian fans is that though the website will be launched across the globe, it could land first in India. Benjamin Grubbs, regional director, interactive media, Turner Entertainment said, “India could be the first market where Tom & Jerry virtual world will go live in the second half of 2010.” He also adds, “Tom and Jerry are big brands in India, so India is a perfect market for the roll out of the virtual world first.”
